Podcasting has become popular over the past several years. Many organizations are using podcasting as part of their overall digital strategy. Here are some statistics about podcast platforms

  • YouTube is preferred over Spotify and Apple Podcasts. 31% of weekly podcast listeners and 33% of monthly podcast listeners ranked YouTube over Spotify (27%) and Apple Podcasts (15%).
  • Netflix is considering adding video podcasts to its platform.
  • Podcasts with a video component are preferred by 42% of US adults, which is one reason why YouTube is preferred over Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
  • Video podcasts provide more context, like facial expressions, to strengthen the connection between podcasters and listeners/viewers.
  • Podcast ad spending in the US should hit $2.55 billion in 2025.
