Boost the Effectiveness of Your LinkedIn Posts

If your organization includes LinkedIn in its social media strategy, you may be interested in new tips from the platform for getting the most effectiveness from your posts. As the platform is one of the most highly-referenced sources for AI tools, LinkedIn has also provided tips to boost posts for chatbot mentions.

These are LinkedIn’s tips for posting in general:

  • Consistent posts 2-3 times per week.
  • Start off with your organization’s most compelling information.
  • Set posts up in a “question and answer” format to initiate engagement and discussion.
  • Post length should be 200-300 words to enhance user interest.
  • Suggested post types are opportune insights, conversation starters, and long content summaries.
  • Use a mix of posts and articles.
  • Respond to comments within an hour of the responses.
  • Consider repurposing top-performing posts in different formats.

To better capture content for AI chatbots, LinkedIn suggests:

  • Use a clean, strong opening line using your keywords, as it will become part of the URL of your post. Don’t start with a hashtag, as this will create a generic URL rather than a customized one.
  • Use a clear format with short paragraphs and bulleted sequences.
  • Engage with comments within a day.
Long-form content is shared more frequently by AI chatbots because of its depth and structural clarity, so these posts should be 800-1,000 words.
